OMFG! ...so today we had elections for who was going to be ASB president ASB vice, ASB treasurer, ASB something else that i forgot...and then senior class pres. and vice. So...ANYWAY! the only ones that really mattered was the election of the ASB president and the senior vice president. so for anyone reading this...please don't be offended because we all have our opinions and this is mine...so here's my rant.. (btw...in my rant I have included many opinions from people who shall remain anonymous..but i share the same opinion as they do) The other elections didn't really matter because the candidates ran unopposed.
First of all the ASB president between Vince and Lilly...SERIOUSLY HOW COULD LILLY HAVE LOST!!!!? THAT IS BLASPHEMY!!! I mean her speech was engaging (breakdowns fo sho x] ), it showed spirit, power, and dedication, and it was actually meaningful! Not that Vince's speech wasn't good...it just wasn't AS good as Lilly's...call me biased but I trust Lilly more than I would trust Vince. She actually does things for our class (2010) and she raised soo many events that raised soo much money for us...she made decisions that benefitted us even though it meant not having things that we should have like junior class dance. The sacrifices that she made and the dedication that she put, made her worthy of being junior class pres. but still she would also be a wonderful ASB president...look at all the things she's done for US and our CLASS! I do not know if Vince can pull a feat for sure...but who knows? He might succeed and outdo Lilly...but if he fails...then our class will fail as well....AND WE DO NOT WANT TO BE A CLASS WHO HAS TO FAIL AND PAY HIGHER SENIOR DUES....I mean who wants to pay more senior dues in an economy like this....I just don't want the money that Lilly worked so hard to earn be washed down the drain.
Second of all, many people including myself believe that this election was unfair and not trustworthy...1.) people could have "stuffed the ballot" meaning that there are people (such as ditchers who are supposed to be in class *cough* seniors...not saying they were the only ones ditching..) who came in twice or maybe more times in various periods where they voted more than once for the same person....that is considered cheating and unfair. WHY? Because the majority of this whole stinking school believes in popularity...it's true BUT IT'S SAD! In order to run for these elections, the candidates have to have some popularity in order to have the crowd go to his/her side....Vince is really popular and Lilly is uber popular also but not to the point of having voters who want to cheat. seriously now?! I'm getting the feeling it's not about how meaningful the speech was or what the main goal is....it's the person's popularity and how much influence they HAVE! sure..I and various others have voted for Lilly because we like her and she's one of our best homies...but also because she's dedicated and we know that she WILL DO SOMETHING WHEN SHE SAYS SHE WILL TO THE BEST OF HER ABILITY! The "cheating voters" have skewed the votes and made this outcome.
Third of all, now I will go to the part of Angel vs. Stephen for senior vice. ok..I may not know Angel very well, but I consider her a trustworthy and good person. DID U GUYS SEE THE VIGOR AND POWER SHE HAD WHEN SHE WAS ADDRESSING US? she interacted and memorized the speech which was better than reading off a paper and saying some random stuff that pops up. She has many "goals and dreams" and she showed us that she has done something that's worthwhile! Stephen won because of his popularity and he might have actually done something worthwhile too..but his speech was convoluted and not clear of his goals to making next year the best it can be.
Well...the what's done is done...and I hope we have an excellent year next year and make it worth remembering. =) The voters cast their vote and this will determine whether they made the right decision or wrong one. I wish the new president for ASB and the vice pres. for the senior class good luck and I hope they will take their jobs seriously because our class depends on guidance from them. If they go astray...we will be in disarray.

I'm glad you share my feelings, Jess, but I have a lot to say too. :D
I was so pissed when I heard after school that I seriously wanted to cry. Maybe Vince really is a nice guy, but well DAMN, he didn't care enough to even organize a campaign. I think 90% of us walked into the auditorium thinking who the hell is this guy, why didn't I see any posters about him? And I'm not very confident about his ability to run ASB - he didn't talk about how much ASB experience he had during his speech, which is something EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE MENTIONED, probably because he has none. Whereas Lilly has worked so hard for us and she's proven it all this year. Lilly cares about everyone, regardless of what clique they belong to or the kinds of people they know or what activities they do -- and she wants to bring us together, to unite the senior class. Electing Vincent has essentially done the opposite of that. We're going to be divided more than ever... (basically his supporters versus anyone with common sense). I think many of us participated more in raising school spirit this year because simply Lillygol led us. She's open and receptive, not to mention a helluva lot more approachable than Vincent Gumina, and I cannot stress enough that she actually CARES about us, about our input. She's considerate enough to probably even feel a little bit happy for Vincent right now. BUT I'M NOT IN HER POSITION AND I DON'T NEED TO ACCEPT DEFEAT GRACEFULLY AND I SAY, LYNCH THE BASTARD... even if he turns our to be a competent leader, I won't retract any of my statements, because I'd still think Lilly would have done better.
As for Angel Bates, unlike Jess I do know her and she's quite brave and likable. The reason most of our group doesn't know her is because she hangs around the Mexicans and others we normally don't associate with. But she never makes you feel like you don't belong, she can crack a joke anytime anywhere, and she's not afraid of taking a fall. (That's a pun xD -- she skateboards, has all her life, and is good enough to go PRO with her skill.) I don't know Stephen Wing; he did make me laugh while he was talking (Baby face... sheesh, how does anyone really respect him?), but that's hardly showing the dedication and commitment it takes to be senior VP, and by the end of his speech I was not convinced that he was passionate about leading. Angel's speech much not as smoothly executed, fumbling around for the words a bit but MUCH more fiery. The audience was just put off by her aggressiveness.
*sigh*
Maybe I'm just mad because guys beat girls. Except that the guys are wealthy and popular and the girls have had to struggle quite a bit for the things they've wanted, genuinely care about their classmates, and are from minorities.
GAH. Why is our school so messed up?
In conclusion, if I ever overhear anyone say they voted for Vince, I'll fucking shoot them.
GO SHERRY THAT'S MY GIRL!!! <3 SERIOUSLY I WANTED TO SAY THOSE THINGS...but i didn't want sunniva or kim to edit my post -_- rawr. wish lilly and angel won...they probably both have more common sense and passion than those other two will ever have. =_= seriously wth is wrong with our school...the freaking A.
hi peeps. lol. emotional here, huh? well, i voted for lilly, duh, but ive known vince since 6th grade. hes a good guy. i didnt expect him to run for sth so high up there ;P but... i dont doubt that hed work hard. (btw is his full name really vincent? i somehow dont think so o_O hm. idr :O) sure, lilly is much more into it, we can all tell, but srsly sherry, u shouldnt lynch a guy when u dont evne no him. like i said, knew vince in 6th grade, and had hellavu lotta classes with him. hes an amzing guy. (not to mention he has one eye o_O unrelated but heck, its cool xD and he showed us his eyeballess socket in 6th grade, when he lost his old fake eye or sth? idr. but it was intense. XP). im getting redundant. anyhoo, lynching isnt justified ;P lets just hope he does well, eh? i have faith in him :] (btw sherry, u scare me xD i ALMOST persuaded myself to vote for vince, but my common sense took over). for the convince side, i dont think he takes as many aps as lilly haha hes more of a... helptheschool dude, i find, rather than academic. hm.
as for angel and stephen, i agree. angel is more determined, but ive had a few middle school classes with her, and i wonder bout her capabilities. shes determined, strong, etc., but... idk. idr who i voted for, but i doubt it was stephen. he... is another one of those winbypopularity ppl, and he seemed too.. stupid. to really do ath. (babyface? wtF. retard.) idk. i find him a tard. (srry prostephen dudes, i nvr really liked the guy). his speech wasnt really impressing either. at least he had better grammar than angel at least? o_o (srry angel? o__o)
7th grade fleck w/ angel was amazing o__o (sidenote)
either way, again, lets just hope these new elects of ours do their job, and do it well. mlm them if not ;P well, if they dont TRY at least. GL 2010 reps! 2010 ftw!
sidenote#2: dude, we have the hardest fucking yr wtF? like, 2011 doesnt need take the sat2s or sth, and 2009 didnt have the extreme collegeundergradacceptance prob. nor the extreme economic prob. watch, next yr, we'll literally be in a depression, and we (the 2010'ers) will be screwed. f. o-o
WEEELLLL... I've calmed down quite a bit, and let's all forget about some of my angrier statements. -cough- I really don't know Vince and probably won't ever meet him, but if Kim has faith in him I'll give the guy a shot.
But if he messes up big time, WE LYNCH. (Just kidding. We... toilet paper his house or something like that. xP)
[response to Kim's sidenote]
-jaw drop-
WHAT?? Think of all the money we wasted on college board. It was at least a consolation that the years before and after us have suffered/will suffer as well. ;-;
The world is cruel...
Actually my mom says the economy will probably pick up when we graduate so job hunting will go easier... although that's only if we can find some way to fund college in the first place. >__>
