Wow! I hadn't realized how long it's been since there's been a post on this blog. The shop has been growing steadily, but this blog has been at a standstill since Jan... whoops!
I actually have a midterm tomorrow, so I'm just gonna post pictures of a couple of our newer creations below. I might add some details later, but... here's the pics!

A Different Style of Card Making...
A very popular gift people give to their friends are cards. Whether it's for a birthday, Christmas, or Thanksgiving, an appropriate card can be found for any occasion. With this in mind, I have begun my mission to reuse my sister's college papers by making cards! This way, the paper is reused and a completely new product is created. Hitting three birds with one stone; putting pretty paper to use, making your friends happy, and creating self-entertainment at the same time!
With the variety of paper I have collected, I was able to make two different cards recently, one for my sister's birthday (given with the fox in the previous post) and an Umbreon card good for any occasion. The b-day card (shown above) is made of three layers: the back, the trim, and the front. On the front surface, yellow paper with a adhensive backing is used to create the front design. The Umbreon card (shown below) is made of many layers to create this type of appearance. Just the Umbreon is made of 4 layers. The grasses use many separate pieces glued differently to appear like grass and other plants. The moon, background, and the cliff are simply cut out shapes made of patterned/colored paper. Last but not least, the hills and the cloud are made of tissue paper. The card is designed so that only the bottom half is openable, making the top half the background of both the front and the back.
With my first experiments considered successful, I am planning on continuing my crafting experience with card making, each time creating a new design!

New Sewing Experience: Fox Making
Above: The side view of the fox. As you can see, the bottom area is a little deformed, but I hope to fix that in my next one.
Right: The front view of the fox. The nose is a little crooked... but that can be fixed too!
Any suggestions will be accepted :D

Kusudama in progress
I love kusudamas! Back home in San Diego, I used to collect college ad magazines just to make kusudamas with. When I went to Davis, I didn't bring any with me though, so I stopped making them for a while. But one day, I was cleaning my room and thinking about how bored I was, when BAM! something caught my eye: an old StaTravel booklet! My first thought was "KUSUDAMAS!" :D So, obviously, I started making kusudamas! Turns out the paper is the perfect texture and colors (it's from a travel book, after all!). Here's some pics of my first two completed flowers:
Aren't they pretty? :D If you'd like to make your own, here's a link to my absolute favorite kusudama site: http://foldingtrees.com/2008/11/kusudama-tutorial-part-1/ They just have the most gorgeous tutorials!
New PanzerCrafts!
Since it's been over a year now since PanzerCrafts the Club disbanded, I figured it was time to start anew! My little sister and I have been wanting to make a little business by the same name since forever, and since I did found this whole PanzerCrafts thing, I thought heck, why don't I just do what I've been meaning to do anyway: turn this blog back into the PanzerCrafts the Business blog! :D So, that's what I just did. Sorry my beloved Panzers of old... hahaha. We're still a business-to-be though, so nothing's really going on; I'm just trying to tidy up this place. A few years from now when I actually have the time and money, I'll open up an Etsy shop with my little sister, then this blog will be full-on running. For now though, it's still the same as it's always been: lazy and idle. XD and for fun.
All of the posts from the days of the club have been kept and labeled as "Old posts from the Club times...". I couldn't bear deleting them, and the blog was sitting here being useless, so I didn't want to create another one by the same name... lol. Sorry, PanzerCrafts clubbers. Goodbye club, hello business! hahaha

Ravelry
There's a little store in that little village in Balboa Park that sells hand spun and dyed yarn and is run by a tiny old lady who knits beautiful hats out of mohair. She owns several goats and an alpaca, and she loves what she does for a living.
Well, I stayed and talked to her for half an hour (it was Sunday; business was slow) and she mentioned this very useful website that helps you keep track of all your projects, needles, yarn stash, and patterns.
So I urge you.
Check it out.
Make an account.
Add me, my name is concordia.
